Canary Wharf has passed its first test. I have managed to buy a bra that will work under the outfit I'm wearing for a wedding this week. It's a cream halterneck top, in silk, but it's also very low at the back, and I'm not (er) underendowed enough to go out unsupported.
So I have found what must be the biggest attempt at an invisible bra ever invented. It's flesh coloured for a start (although doesn't seem to be the colour of any flesh I've ever encountered) and it has clear straps at the back, that you can cross over very low down, and another two clear straps that you can wear as a halterneck round your neck. And it has what are called "cut away cups" - just in case the thing you are wearing is virtually frontless as well (it's not, don't worry). Seldom have I ever seen such a masterpiece of undergarment engineering. It took ages to choose, and it also cost more than the top (Ebay, of course. perhaps the seller couldn't bear to find a bra that would work under it?).
Let's hope it works. I shall probably feel like a trussed chicken anyway. My apologies to any boys reading this, but at least you might now understand the agonies us girls go through in order to look "natural".
