When you get drunk with your colleagues and encounter a senior member of staff do you wake up with the sinking feeling that you may have offered to go on some boat that is reenacting Nelson's Funeral. Apparently they needed some staff to "entertain the readers".
I had to get out of it, unfortunately, cos of work, but I spent a good hour standing on the quay at Greenwich this morning watching people in naval costumes of varying convincingness stride up and down. It's an odd world.
Hen night tomorrow. Canary wharf has failed me. i can't find tiaras or fairy wings anywhere. Am bad matron of honour. But I'm looking forward to the spa!
