Passover

Did a (heavily truncated) passover meal last night with the youth group, which was really good. Not something I've thought about before really, but I really enjoyed preparing it, and thinking about what the Last Supper was really like.
For something so integral to the Easter story, Passover wasn't something I knew masses about, so it was good to prepare all the special things, explain them to the youf and take communion together. There's some wonderful symbolism that comes from putting the Last Supper in a Passover context. I particularly loved the fact that when you break a matza - unleavened piece of bread, it shatters into pieces, rather than normal bread which just sort of sinks into two. That was very moving...
The jews in our office seem to be doing far more for passover than we are for easter. Which is sad, I guess.
