I've promised myself that I will get back to this. So here I am. Returning from Greenbelt to work is always a surreal experience, since I always end up feeling that I don't get to be who I "really am" when I'm at work. Still, on the plus side it is nice to be clean, and I'm trying to keep to my many post GB resolutions - including more blogging and less caffeine.
I'm also actually doing my quiet time (though I suspect god would prefer it if I actually lengthened it from ten minutes). This morning I read the Garden of Gethsemane bit from Mark (yes, for anyone who uses the same notes as me, I'm two days behind) , and then the bit below which asked... "how would your life be different if God really was in control of all of it?"
Made me think, I can tell you. Quite different....I sometimes wonder how one can do this job every hour, every day, as if god is in charge, but I am trying...Usually it goes wrong. Anyhow, we'll see if this time it makes any difference!
Weekend off camping now and then we are off to a festival on the Isle of Wight called Bestival next Friday. I'm looking forward to it.. my brother and sister are going and lots of assorted friends. However, it is a lot less Christian(!) and a lot more hard-edged than greenbelt, so in a way I feel quite scared about how it is going to go. (and it might be very cold and I'm a big wuss). ho hum
