This morning I finished the harvest edition of the church newsletter. I only managed to get the stuff I needed for it by threatening to print nothing but large pictures of turnips if the info wasn't sent. The whole process wasn't helped by the fact that i am slightly hungover. But on reflection i am quite pleased - it is normally called Newsbeat, so I have renamed it Newsbeet for the occasion, and garnished it with a large picture of a beetroot. It also features a pretty sheaf of corn and some thoughts on deuteronomy that I dredged up from Bible Gateway. A wonderful resource for the hungover and under-prepared.
Between that and the harvest powerpoint presentation that we prepared two nights ago, which is three minutes and 42 seconds long and works perfectly to length with Sting's Fields of Gold I am a bit harvested out. The powerpoint presentation contains a picture of a turnip, too (and before anyone asks, I am not baldrick from blackadder, these things just happen). I quite like the thought of forcing all the rest of the congregation to meditate on root vegetables while I am in Scotland having a nice time. We are going whisky tasting, and fishing (not so sure on this one, but I'll try most things once) and to a nice church of scotland church.
I'm tired now, and sadly I have a whole day's work to do. Still, it's nothing like as tiring as the church newsletter
