I have been reading a book by a guy who does horsewhispering, and it is about people skills and communication. I normally hate self-help books, but this is for work rather than for fun, and actually it's interesting.
The only thing it has really made me aware of is how much I fidget. I chew pens, and I eat the corners of my newslist in conference in the morning. And I fiddle with my hair, and my earrings. I guess I'm not a very calm person to be around so I am trying to become a little less of a whirlwind.
It is interesting, being still, particularly in a meeting where everyone else is frenetic. All my colleagues fidget like mad. When you're just watching what they're doing and letting yourself sit still and be quiet you can actually learn quite a lot about yourself, I reckon. Maybe everyone else thinks I'm being creepy, and it freaks them out though. That would be fun.
