Making a big mistake...

mostly I don't think very much about the number of people who read what I write (not in this blog, obviously, at work) . But sometimes something happens that brings it straight home to me, and it is usually something VERY BAD INDEED.
But I don't think I've ever done anything quite as bad as I did this morning, when I inadvertently got the name of two drugs muddled up and scared and confused very large numbers of people. I feel very guilty, and very responsible. And obviously we will be printing a correction - so I got in big trouble with my boss as well.
It is a wake up call. I'm used to not regarding what I write as very important, but we've had too many phonecalls this morning for me to discount the articles and treat them lightly. Just makes me really glad I'm not a brain surgeon or something. Must do better, anyhow.

On the Jerry Springer stuff, a wake up call too. My bible notes this morning - John on Jesus throwing the moneychangers out of the temple, and the prophecy about Jesus that said "He will be filled with zeal for God's house". The notes said - "what areas of our life and in the world glorify God, and which ones don't?". It seemed relevant - although I still can't get fired up about the whole thing, I must admit.
