and we thought we had brought him up so well!

Against all of our better education, the cat has become a drug addict. We have been mystified by his excitement (jumping all over the piano yesterday), and the small piles of sick that have been appearing in the house... but it suddenly all becomes clear now Mr Fishsoup has found the catmint we bought last week in a small and sorry pile on the patio. Custard has eaten all the leaves off it, and it was only a baby.
We've put it in the greenhouse in the hope that it will get better, but Custard is not happy. His eyes have become worryingly round, and he has spent most of the last day or two shouting at us. I think he is going cold turkey...
Still, as someone pointed out, there's not really that much of a problem if your cat becomes addicted to catnip. After all, it's not like he's got any work to do.

Watched the BBC version of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe last night, which I have very fond memories of from when i was a kid... I tell you, computer graphics have really moved on. Still, the death of Aslan is still incredibly moving, and really does actually bring quite a lot home to me - i wonder why i find it more resonant to watch that than an actual actor enacting the crucifixion... maybe it is because no-one ever really fits my imagination as to what Jesus looks like?
