Last night, at housegroup we "did" the election. Because the majority of our group are early twenties there were people who had never voted - and this year seems like a pretty depressing place to start. For me, the first General Election voted was 1997, and yes I was still up for portillo (although dozing slightly by then I must admit).
Sad, isn't it, that the one word that these new voters could come up with in connection with the election was "disillusioned", and we hadn't even got there yet. We talked about whether you should vote (and i guilt-tripped every girl in the room by talking about suffragettes) and also, I think, crucially, discussed whether or not you should expect to agree with other Christians when it comes to politics. On some issues, maybe yes, but on others... well, it's hard to say.

How Would Jesus Vote? Anyone got any ideas.
