Three nights of proper amounts of sleep later, I am starting to feel and look more human. That horrible essay was finally nailed on Friday morning.
Yesterday was a lovely day, spent in the company of various women students (and some wives of male students). We had hired a church cafe space and spent the day chilling out and sharing some experiences of being female and working in churches. There was a LOT of food involved.
As I mentioned yesterday to the group, I am fairly ambivalent about being female: most of the time I don't even think about it. I suppose that, working towards being in one of those few roles where it is still acceptable to discriminate against women, this is an issue that is going to come up again in the future so I ought to be prepared for it. I do realise how fortunate I am in this regard, having a) been born at a time when gender equality has gone a long way and b) growing up in a family and school where no-one ever said 'you can't do that because you are a girl'.
Anyway, today I am making a start on the reading for the next essay. Plus, I have finally finished the pair of socks that I have been knitting on and off for months. Mr F is sitting downstairs watching his home town's football team play very badly against Cardiff, at least I assume they are playing badly because they haven't scored any goals.
