The cats have forgiven me! Esme has actually come to sit on my knee for the first time in a fortnight. I think they have realized that the baby is here to stay. Seph usually checks in during feeding to monitor the situation.

Looking at rain's post detailing all she has achieved today (or rather yesterday) I was considering doing the same. On further thought, I decided that I haven't really achieved anything much at all beyond getting showered, dressed and emailing. Thankfully, that is pretty much all I am required to achieve today.

I had saved one of my birthday books for reading now. It was Notes from an Exhibition by Patrick Gale. It was wonderful: easy to read, compelling characters, non-linear plot. It was bought for me solely on the basis of having a recommendation from Stephen Fry on the cover. This was probably because he is a high-profile bi-polar person. Bi-polar is a recurring theme in the novel and is very interesting. I thoroughly recommend the book and will be looking for some of his other stuff to read too.

I'm going to try to read some of the books on my shelves that I have been avoiding. First up: the second half of Atonement. I stalled on the beach at Dunkirk when I was reading it.
