This is possibly the first time ever that I have enjoyed working hard at studying. Previously, I have enjoyed NOT working hard at studying. There is a difference! I am also finding learning easier, the more work I put in. It may sound obvious, but this is something that had partially escaped me.
I am particularly enjoying the feeling of virtuous tiredness which appears after a hard day working at something rewarding. The last few jobs I had left me feeling worn out with boredom. This feeling is very different. There is also the addition of the cycle to college ethic which I am actually enjoying. So, 14 hour days - no problem.
Another aspect of life which I am enjoying is taking a day off and feeling that I have earned it. Today, after 2 weeks where I have rarely been at home in daylight, I spent the day at home with Mr Farli. We played some card and board games, watched the Grand Prix qualifing and generally rediscovered what it was like to spend time together. My cribbage playing turned out to be rather poor and my spatial awareness was not good enough to beat him at the Tantrix game (also playable online - go try it), but it was lovely to relax. I also had a four hour lie-in.
And finally, Strictly Come Dancing is back! Hurrah! Not sure who I will be rooting for among the ladies, having not seen them dance yet, but I think it has to be Ray and Camilla from the male celebs. Sorry Anton, but maybe you can change my mind. Does anyone else think that the highlight of the evening is the professionals dancing? Why do they have to tag ballroom dancing onto a reality show? It would be better without the celebs, particularly now we know the professionals from the previous series.
