The future

The last few days have been really quite hectic. A 500 mile, 4 day trip in the company of a seven week old baby, incorporating 24 hours of job-interview type thing and meeting up with 7 different sets of friends from the city we used to live in. No wonder I'm knackered. The baby seems to be taking it all in his stride, apart from having a very grumpy day yesterday. He behaved beautifully while out in public, even sleeping through an entire church service on Sunday.

So the job interview... well that was the first part of the process of finding somewhere to be a curate. It is a very strange process, in that you fill in some forms with minimal information and then wait to be fixed up on a blind date with a potential parish. We had a great time there so hopefully, if the incumbent also thinks we can work together well, I'll be sorted before too long.

The main church is a middle-to-high-church parish, what they describe as liberal-catholic. After two years in a very low church environment it was like coming home... apart from the hymns.

The really great thing is that I'm starting to get really excited about being out in a parish ministering. I love being at college so much that I think I've sometimes lost sight of the end goal.
