Good things

Today has been more eventful, in that I left the house (twice).

First, I had a short stroll this morning to the doctor's for a routine appointment. The doctor was very impressed with the textbook I had taken along to read and even more impressed that my blood pressure was normal. Hurrah!

I got home and my computer had stopped working. Mental note to self: next time you think "didn't updating that last time break it", don't press OK and go merrily on your way. Updates that come through on Linux do sometimes break things if you have had to spend many hours changing things beforehand. It was the nvidia driver that broke, but it is fixed enough to be going on with now. I am so grateful that I can sit at the computer with the laptop (not broken - different distribution of Linux!) and sort it out with reference to t'internet.

This afternoon we had divided labour so that Mr F would go to the supermarket and I would go to college to get some library books. As he drove off, I realised that this meant he had the car and so I cycled. Who made the hills steeper over Christmas? I had been out for a getting-back-into-it ride yesterday, so today all muscles were moaning. On the bright side, I have therefore done exercise today. Doubly on the bright side, the books I needed were in the library (definitely an answered prayer there) and are now sitting on my desk here at home. They are all nice and thin so should be quick to skim.

There are no further excuses. I should get on with cooking dinner and then I can spend this evening writing lots of lovely words. See you later.
