This week and last week have been one of those happy times when the learning from various different areas at college come together to shed light on a subject from different angles.

The subject in this case is Baptism. We had a discussion a few days ago about infant baptism and appropriate preparations for it. This week we have been looking at baptism at various times in history. I will shortly be wandering off to do some role playing of a third century baptism - much more fun than normal seminars. Thankfully, I am not one of the candidates: we have props including water and oil to use on them (some groups have included milk and honey too).

First thing this morning I had lots I wanted to say on this subject, but having done some work, it has all gone clean out of my mind. Ah well.

Moving on...

When I looked out of the window this morning for my customary correlation of clothes with weather, it was a bright, cold morning. By the time I had got dressed and ready, it was snowing slightly. Ah well, I thought, the snow doesn't look like it will last very long. During the journey to college (in the car - I had enough of cycling in the snow yesterday) it started to snow heavily. It is still snowing. I am not wearing appropriate shoes. The world is very slippery today.

Yesterday, I discovered the downside of living in a city when it snows. I got absolutely covered in grey slush from the cars whizzing past me. Thank goodness I thought to look in a mirror before chapel: I had large grey measle-type spots all over my face. I am sure someone would have told me eventually. I took a photo for posterity, but posting it here might blow my anonymity.
