Q: What is the opposite of Green-fingered?

A: Me!

Plants wither and die whenever I go near them. I take after my Dad in this regard and I have been modelling my efforts to avoid further gardening on his strategies.

What is the biggest part of the garden? The lawn. So if I mow the lawn, I have therefore done most of the gardening.

Did I mention I mowed the lawn today? I even did the edges with some clippy things that might have been secateurs so as not to damage the wooden lawn edging.

My comment that "the beds probably need weeding" was met by a suggestion that perhaps I should do this.

"Ah, but I do not know how. I do not know what is a weed and what is not." Thanks for that gem, Dad.

We have compromised, following an episode of Mr F slicing bread which I should probably not go into, and I am to watch and learn how to weed.
