You know how in life there are some things that you aspire to? Let's designate the sum total of these aspirations as the dream. Different people have different things which constitute the dream.
When we moved the time before last, my sister came to visit, walked into our kitchen and said 'a fridge disguised as a cupboard - it's the dream'. I don't think now is the time to dwell on that particular aspect of the dream. I am quite content with our current fridge, which looks just like a fridge, not like a cupboard.
For me, the things I aspire to are generally things that make me look more intelligent or more of a techy. One thing in particular that I have been wanting for a while* is a computer with two screens or, as I discovered today, a dual-head layout. Having a day to myself with not much to do and the screen for my main computer kicking around on the same desk as my laptop, I thought I would set it up.
It turns out that this was a foolish thing to want because it is just too tricky to get it the way I want. After several hours wandering vaguely round the net, I got almost all the way there with the help of this tutorial, but kept losing my mouse off the side of one screen and not being able to retrieve it.
Never mind. I do not care anymore because it has had a welcome side-effect. Without doing any physical exercise whatsoever, I now appear significantly thinner...
... in photos on my laptop screen.
The resolution had been wrong for months and I had never noticed! I am no longer stretched wider on all my photos. Hurrah!
What would be the dream for you?
