Last week I came across a new (to me) form of prayer. We were doing a session on intercessory prayer and had a chapter to read from a very good book whose name and author escapes me. One paragraph described intentional prayer where (paraphrasing a bit here) if you are really, really busy and also feel the urge to pray for a particular thing, just pray briefly along the lines of, "God, I don't have time to pray, please take my work on this project today as a prayer for situation x and/or person y".
What do you think?
Does it take multi-tasking to new levels?
Is it just a big cop-out?
As last week was a hugely busy time, I did end up trying it out. Doing a task that is not what you want to do, but rather what you have to do, but doing it in a prayerful way, as well as you possibly can, is a rather nice experience.
