On the whole, I'm not a great finisher... of anything. I have various projects on the go in various states of completion or otherwise. I think it is time for an audit.
In 1998 I started a big cross-stitch project and took it off to university with me. The picture is of four of the Discworld magicians: Ridcully, Rincewind, the Librarian and the Bursar (I think). Gorgeous colours, about 18 inches tall by a foot wide. I would guess that I'm about a quarter of the way through, despite finding like-minded friends at college who were also into cross-stitch.
Our wedding photos still need sorting into albums. The service is done, but the reception is still to go.
For Christmas 2005 I got a copy of Stephen Fry's The Ode Less Travelled and resolved to work through it and discover more about poetry. I'm on page 147 of 347 and haven't looked at it in over a year (except just now to check the page numbers).
Last year, I asked for some crochet stuff for Christmas and managed to complete a shawl, a hat and a scarf. I have started nothing further, but have odds and ends of wool to use up.
I also received a cross stitch kit from Mr F which I have started, but not got very far with.
In the summer, my good friend Daisy came to stay and agreed to teach me how to knit, my Gran's lessons not having worked particularly well. The result of this was a sock-knitting kit. I get bored with simple projects so like to have a challenge to work on. I'm halfway down the second sock now and have a book of patterns to create some socks that actually fit me next time!
At college, I chose learning New Testament Greek over Hebrew, but I have a teach-yourself Hebrew book sitting on my desk if ever I should be at a loose end.
There are also a couple of websites that I have vaguely in mind to create when I have a spare moment.
Oh, and if all that wasn't enough, I have a fantasy world percolating in the background with a story in the early stages of writing. I fully expect never to finish it.
On the plus side, I have no sewing machine projects, no woodwork projects and no calligraphy projects in progress.
