One of the bizarre things about being an ordinand is the lack of ability to go to church every week, well at least the same church. So today saw me going back to a Sunday morning service for the first time since Advent 2. Disgraceful really*.
Anyway, it turns out that they haven't forgotten about me and they have booked me to preach again in March.
The church helpfully kicked off the Love Life, Live Lent programme by including a dramatic retelling of The Good Samaritan story. It was also an all-age type service that wasn't cringeworthy.
*Well not entirely disgraceful, I have been legitimately away or visiting other churches to appraise sermons most weeks. It still feels a bit wrong, despite having church 5 other days a week at college. Hmm, I think we have some residual guilt issues here.
