We're back. Our flight from Bali was delayed by 2.5 hours which meant we missed our connecting flight to Melbourne and the next available flight waasn't until 5 hours later - making a total of seven hours later than we were meant to be and a total travelling time, from leaving our hotel in Lovina to arriving at our home doorstep, of about 30 hours.
Needless to say, we spent a large chunk of yesterday catching up on sleep.
Everyone had a great time on the trip and I know personally as well as having a lot of fun it has challenged me and made me think a lot differently about my faith. There's a real difference to reading the Bible and praying when you're in a country with a majority of non-Christians who are occasionally actively anti-Christian. The verses in the Bible that read things like "He shall direct your path" and "He is your strength and protector" take on a whole new meaning. As does praying before meals: grace becomes "please let me not die or catch any weird tropical diseases by eating this food". Being a Christian in Indonesia is a more serious business than here, some how.
I'll bring some more of our stories and photos etc in the coming days.
