Conditions :: Fine and sunny. No natural snow, but they were making it last night.
Well, we made it! There's even less snow up here than last time, but it's cold enough. Elicia began work at 2pm yesterday, and she's back there today. The season doesn't officially open until tomorrow, but all the staff at the salon are very busy helping set everything up.
I haven't got the internet on yet, so I'm writing all this in a text file and then I'll post them later in the week in one mega-post that nobody will read. Telstra has been having trouble finding our address because we don't really have a street number, the apartment is just known as "The Arlberg, Mt Hotham". Cool, but it means an extra delay when connecting the phone. I feel pretty disconnected altogether, but at least there's a local ABC station that comes through loud and clear (I love ABC, my work output increases 25% with it playing)- except when I've got my computer on, the intereference is bad. I might have to A: build a new shelf for the radio further away from my computer, or B: buy a lead casing for said radio.
Anyway, so far we're having a great time! There's no snow, and still not many people, and Elicia's been working non-stop so far, but it's very cold outside, very warm inside, our unit is becoming home and everything is really exciting!
