Today is the official opening of the ski season here, all the shops are open and there are a few more people around. Elicia doesn't start work until 5 today which is really nice, we slept in and then went for a walk to explore. It feels more like a holiday now. We went out the General (pub) last night with the other people form Elicia's work, they all seem very friendly and nice, and the pub is great too, they were busy last night but the pizzas were still terrific, and interesting "gourmet" flavours. The "tandoori chicken" comes with a piece of poppadom stuck into each slice!
Handy Tip for Living at Mt Hotham #1
When you seal a container at sea level, the air pressure is caught inside. When you come to Mt Hotham, the environmental air pressure is less. Besides making you puff more when exercising, this has the effect of making any container sealed at sea level (eg shaving gel, cartons of milk) pop when first opened. Very entertaining the first few times, not so amusing when it squirts down your leg.
