Time :: 9:30am
Temperature (outside) :: -4 deg C
Centimetres of snow on the ground :: 60!
Conditions :: The snow is still falling, it's been going all night. A bit windy still, but 7 lifts will be open today.
The snow is seriously all around now, getting deep too. And it's still snowing and they say it will tomorrow as well, so by Monday there should be deep snow everywhere and all lifts open, I imagine. Very cool! We're getting to the serious part of what living int he snow is like now. It's hard to walk through.
We went for a swim this morning in the pool on level 3. Nice and warm, there's a spa and sauna as well. You can sit in the spa and look through these double glass doors and here's snow piled up against them and icicles hanging down. Surreal. And yesterday we were having a coffee in Swindlers and we were sitting looking out at their beer garden deck thing, and there's picnic tables and a barbeque all covered in a foot of snow. It would make a good photo, I reckon.
Handy Tip for Living at Mt Hotham #7
Wear proper gloves when snowboarding (skiing too, I presume). Especially when you're learning, your hands spend a lot of time in the snow, and if you only have woollen gloves on because your wife borrowed your proper ones so she could fit her wrist guards in them, your fingers soon go numb.
