Time :: 9:00am
Temperature (outside) :: -1 deg C
Metres above sea level :: 1750
Conditions :: The sun is peeking over the mountains opposite us, the snow is deep and wind is calm, but there are clouds to the east that might produce bad weather later.
I went walking with Elicia yesterday while she delivered some posters for the day spa to various lodges situated at the West of the village. It was absolutely beautiful, walking through snow that was well over our knees in places. Some of the lodges look very quaint all covered in snow and ice with the valley to the south as the backdrop. I took heaps of photos, but my digicam seems to have trouble because there is so much white, they all come out looking grey and underexposed.
Handy Tip for Living at Mt Hotham #9
Get some proper boots if you're going to be here for the season. I've got a new pair of laceup workboots which do okay, but Elicia only has black leather shoes. We didn't think we'd need much else, but after our trek yesterday we're going to buy some proper snow boots for Leash when we go to Bright on Friday. Shoes are not high enough, snow gets in the top way too easily.
