I was tragically bad at darts last night. They put me to number four on the team (ranked in order of skill) at the start of the night and I thought Hey, I wasn't that bad last week - but then I totally proved the decision right by producing my worst darts ever. Although as a team we didn't do too bad, losing 3v4. I walked home at about 12:30am and it was -6 deg C and snowing and very windy, and it was still extremely beautiful, with the fresh snow making wave shapes like sand dunes. It's experiences like that which make this place so special.
Handy Tip for Living at Mt Hotham #19
If heaps of snow falls quickly up here it's possible to cause mini-avalanches on certain slopes just by skiing or boarding on them. Don't. Ski patrol actually goes out overnight with dynamite and sets off avalanches on purpose so that no-one gets hurt. Now that sounds like a cool job - blowing things up in the dark and freezing cold with the slight chance you'll be buried alive under snow.
