Ooh, that's tender

Time :: 3:00pm
Temperature :: 0 deg C
Conditions :: Foggy with a light breeze. Nice out, but the snow is icy...

... as I can attest to. It's like concrete with an inch of sand scattered on top. Very, very cold sand. It was still fun snowboarding this morning, Elicia and I both spent all morning out there and we feel like we're improving greatly. I'm getting the hang of linking turns but I'm still not quite there - the last run down I was trying a bit too hard and going a bit too fast and fell VERY hard on my coccyx. Now I can't even sit in my cushy office chair without it throbbing.

Still, that's what we're here for I suppose. I mean, not injuring ourselves specifically, but getting out there and doing something adventurous. We took the camera, too - although it was a bit foggy to get any really good shots. I'll post some later.

Handy Tip for Living at Mt Hotham #31
There are ski patrol people all around the place watching out for injuries (especially on the beginner runs), so if you injure yourself really badly just give one of them a wave and they'll come over and help you out. I didn't need to thank goodness - I didn't fall that hard - but I did see two other people getting carted off in stretchers. They have these nifty orange stretchers on sleds that they pull behind a skidoo - looks like it would be fun but that everyone riding them is in excruciating pain...
