Freaking out

Time :: 7:30pm
Temperature :: -3.5 deg C
Conditions :: it was a fantastic day, best snow I've seen all season.

We went out snowboarding today with a friend of Elicia's, she took us down a BLACK RUN! Granted, she said it was the easiest black on the mountain, but it remains a milestone none the less. We had heaps of fun, the snow was soft and deep and beautiful, we practised turns down said run, getting some tips from said friend, and it was awesome. To finish we went up the Summit again, the beginner's run, and it seemed so relaxing and slow after what we'd been down all day, turns were easy on it so we practised up there for a while. Best day's snow I've ever seen!

BUT - the cliff-like steepness and sharp corners of the black run was nothing compared to what happened just a few mintues ago. I rang the people about babysitting - thought I should bite the bullet and do it, if it doesn't go well I don't ever have to do it again. But oh my goodness, they have a 14 month-old! I mean, I imagined getting paid to watch Harry Potter and play magic tricks with a kid, not change nappies and duck mushed-up apples. Elicia said it would be good practise for fatherhood, which freaked me out even more...

I'm more nervous about this than any other job I've ever had.
