Life in front of the screen

I spent some time thinking today. Not so good, I should have spent the time working. But after snowboarding for the morning and going out for a big lunch that included a couple of free drinks when the waiter misplaced our order, it was hard to settle down in front of the screen.

I think I will be very glad to get home where I have hobbies that don't involve the computer. Other than snowboarding and the occasional night out, I currently spend all my time at my desk. And it's a small desk at that. At the start of the season I loved it, but I'm wishing for something else to do right now. When I spend my spare time doing other things with other people, lone computer work is fun.

Also, my computer reset itself maybe a dozen times this afternoon - that's not ideal for workflow either - and as it was rebooting every time it tells me I can press any key to skip the disk check. Usually I go for "b" or "v" but today I pressed "l" a lot. No discernable difference, so I may go back to the others, or perhaps try a new key next time.

Life in front of the screen in this room
Has given me bad posture and a little pot-belly.
My eyes are sore and I'm filled with gloom
And the seat of the swivel chair gets pretty smelly.
