We've decided to eat real butter instead of margarine. It's a health decision, sort of. Butter's more natural than marg, but unfortunately that is counterbalanced by being animal rather than vegetable fat. So in my mind the health aspects of both are equal, and butter tastes better so that's what we're going with. Trouble is, I tend to make a thick spread of butter (a love inherited from dear old Dad) whereas a scraping of marg is sufficient. That has nothing to do with church or overhead screens, but is the only other interesting thing to happen over the weekend.
Instead of going to church yesterday morning we went for a walk down the beach and up to the Pt Lonny shops, found a market just around the corner from our house (actually in the same place we voted, quite a different atmosphere yesterday) the weather was beautiful and we had a Very Nice Time.
Then we went to church in the evening, it was combined service that involved lots of praying for our region and tag-team musicians with no lead singers at all - so the focus was squarely on the Holy White Overhead screen. Did I mention the sermon? No... because there was none. What's up with that? I don't have anything against prayer and singing, but for me it's just a warmup for the teaching. And if there is no teaching I feel like I wasted an evening (or morning). I know I shouldn't think that, that prayer and singing are legitimate church activities etc etc, but I do. On the plus side, there was a good supper...
