The art show was a lot smaller than I thought it would be - a bit disappointing but still some nice work there. Can't wait for next weekend, I'm planning to go a Bonsai Show, an Antique Market, and a Travel Expo. Sounds like a fun day!

We went for a walk down the beach in the afternoon, it was very sunny and we got slightly sunburnt. Only slightly. Then we came home and sat in the backyard and played Paul Colman Trio songs on the guitar while sipping beer. Ripper way to spend a Sunday afternoon, I wish I had more chances to do that sort of thing.

A band from Queensland called Rookie played at our church yesterday morning, they were very good, very real. Their music was okay, what I really enjoyed was the normality they brought to the service. They spend most of their time touring high schools so they're in tune with normal young people in way our church leaders are not. Exactly what the church needs. The new face of mission in this country has eyebrow piercings and purple hair.

My bike tyre is getting fixed today, so I can ride again. Which is Very Good. Having to wait at work or arrive late to accommodate Elicia's schedule is getting Very Annoying.

I read the first story in E Annie Proulx's Heart Songs last night. She is a bloody good writer. I am not giving up on Colson, but I decided to have a bit of a break. I feel a bit guilty seeing as I borrowed the copy of the Colson book, but I think maybe if I read something else for a while I'll be able to get back into it.
