I got a new mobile phone yesterday. It's a Sony Ericsson T230. It was almost within my budget of $100, but not quite. There were others there that were a bit cheaper, but the coolness factor of this one was worth the extra.
Among its many funky features is polyphonic ring tones. That means the ring sounds like real music, albeit played out of a very small speaker. The trouble is, I don't like musical rings. I would feel like a poser having a phone that plays the latest pop hit every time it wants me to answer it. The trouble is, there are only two rings in the whole selection that aren't poncy tunes. One is a little beeping scale that sounds like the special effects used for computers in movies made before 1985. The other sounds like an old-fashioned bell phone. The bell phone is semi-cool, but still a bit too poserish for me, so the computer noises it is.
