A short lint-based anecdote

A while ago one of our friends had this "brilliant" (quote) idea to market lint. He reckons that there's nothing quite as good as getting in between sheets that are soft and linty, and that jars full of lint would be an excellent way of adding warmth and snuggliness to a cold bed in winter.

He mentioned it a couple of times, and one day when my wife was cleaning out the lint collector thing int he dryer she had the idea of SAVING this lint, packaging it in a glass jar and presenting it to our friend for his birthday. So we saved for about 6 months, lint from all over the place, and got a little jar quite packed.

It was my friend's birthday last weekend.

We presented him with the jar of lint, complete with a carefully-made label with his name on it.

The look on his face told us he had forgotten all about his previous fascination with the idea and had NO IDEA whatsoever why we were giving him a jar full of lint with his name on the side. No-one else at the party did either.

Classic.
