I know, I know, I should have this book over and finished with by now - but it's really quite thick, and I've been very busy. However, I got a chance to read a fair chunk of it on the weekend, and again found it very interesting. The fifth part of the book takes up half the total page count and is the part that shows how the concepts from the first four parts can be applied in different areas of society. It uses case studies, some real and some fiction, accompanied by lots of persuasive argument to show how the Christian lifestyle makes everything better.

I'm finding this part of the book much more intriguing and thought-provoking than some of the other parts.

For instance, Colson's view on education: a system that doesn't correct children when they're wrong but instead supports their efforts, cares more for their psychological health than for feeding them information, and encourages students to decide what their personal value system should be instead of teaching them a preconstructed ideological framework, is Wrong, Non-Christian and The Reason Kids Of Today Are Stupid and Self-Obsessed.

The trouble is, I can't figure out if I think he's right or not. It really is giving me a lot to think about, I'm enjoying it immensely.
