Woah, has it been raining here! 120mm (that's nearly 5 inches for you old or foreign dudes) in one day! That's almost three times the average for the whole month of February. Needless to say there are a lot of drains that simply can't handle that volume of water, so today it lay around on paddocks, roads, airfields, shop floors and people's backyards before rushing into rivers and streams that promptly overflowed and put more water back into places it shouldn't be. The water was over the road in seven places between here and work, and that's not far. There was also a large tree blocking half the highway. It's days like today that make me really thankful Elicia is close enough to work to walk - it means I can take the car!
In other news, Des left some stuff that she brought down the other night in her room, and I noticed that the boxes are tied with hayband. How country is that! Gotta love it.
