A very quick update blog, as I'm in the middle of a rather crazy week, where I'm doing about a fifth of my year's work in a 6 day stretch. I was delivering a training course in Sussex yesterday, back home today, then Kent tomorrow, London on Thursday and Newcastle on Saturday.

Apologies for lack of blog for a while, due mainly to extremely intermittent internet access over the last 2 months since changing job and having major building renovations.

I did finish Anne Atkins book below. It's great, but this still disturbs me. 'We all turn Tory when we hit thirty', as a friend said recently. Now I'm starting to look at the world and our traditional institutions, see how much I like them, and see how we must hand it down to our children - an incredibly Tory idea (Edmund Burke, the founder of Conservative ideology). I start thinking 'the state has no right to meddle in this' - a liberal idea, but one that is developed more in modern Thatcherite 'roll back the boundaries of the state' sort of thinking.

But I will die if I start to vote Tory - my sister and I made a solemn pact several years ago that we would perform a mercy killing on each other if the other started voting Tory, as we would obviously not be in our right mind anymore. So I will forever be preserved from that.
