Is a whopping big size 11 with a hobnail boot. Yet I yearn to be a carbon ballerina.
I listened yesterday to the debate surrounding The Stern Report", whilst driving from Swansea to London.
I cheered the need for green taxes, whilst looking anxiously at the £s mounting whilst I filled up.
I applauded the man who said that we need to cut food miles, whilst munching my blueberry muffin.
I scorned the scientist who said climate change might be ok really (we'll just be a little cosier) from my comfy armchair by the gas heated radiator.
For a fleeting moment, I even liked Tony Blair again, until the next article on Iraq.
I strongly hope that this report gets things going, and it was a stroke of genius by our next prime minister to actually get an economist to do an in-depth report on the money costs of global warming. It is a sad indictment on our world that saying 'There's a business risk that needs to be managed' is a more powerful motivator to action than 'One sixth of the world's population won't have any water to drink'.
It is more powerful though, and people on the angelic side of the equation had better start speaking in language that makes sense to everyone else.
