Calamitous Force's party (see previous) had an interesting policy yesterday: only let well people into the country.
In other words, if Calamitous gets in, we'll screen possible immigrants for TB and HIV and then, if they're sick, we'll chuck them on the next rat-infested ship out of the country.
I like his sense of hospitality, and believe this should be extended to other areas of life.
For instance, if you get pneumonia and go down the doctor's, don't be surprised when the receptionist says to you, How dare you jeopardise the health of other patients by coming in here in that state! And to think that malingerers like you are using precious NHS resources instead of the healthy people who need them. Shame on you!'
Actually, I'm not sure this would be a change of practise.
Anyway, I'm glad to see that Calamitous is serious about keeping notions of simple humanity out of politics. Totally messes up the smooth running of things.
Equally worthy of praise is Charles Clarke (aka the BFG), who muttered something along the lines of We've been ensuring that sick foreigners are denied the treatment they need very effectively for some time now. Calamitous is way behind the game. More sick foreigners have died under Labour than ever before.'
The Lib Dems wouldn't say what they would do regarding sick foreigners, but said that they had plans to increase the quotient of nice immigrants at the expense of nasty ones. I'm sure we can all say hurrah to that too.
