feel i should mention our little trip out on sunday to wimpole hall.... well wimpole hall farm where we met my parents. lots of delightful little baby animals to ooh and aaah over, not sure if the sheepies or the goats were cuter though. may be able to recover some piccies from lisa's camera later this week.
and then yesterday was ... ahem... my birthday! so i'm now the proud owner of another futurama box set, a new spade and some slinky new tri shorts.
and as a bonus i was able to test the shorts out on the bike in the evening. local club rugby velo organise tuesday night time trials all through the summer which are great for my tri training, and since cov tri is also rttc affiliated we can join in for a bargain 50p.
i was a bit late gettin to the start and so hung around at the end before seeing if i could tag on.... which they let me. the only downside being i then had less than a minute to get my number on and hop on the bike.... i made it to the line with about 5seconds to spare.
the course goes out down the 'straight mile' (which somehow manages to be uphill in both directions) left down a dual carraigeway, round a roundabout back up the other side, round another roundabout before heading back down the straight mile. i did this course sometime last year in something under 27 minutes... yesterdays was just under 28 which isnt bad considering the state of my legs recently.
and i'll have to guess the distance there & back at something like 6miles each way.
