things have been moving on apace at this end.. and ive never been inspired enough to blog it so far.
i have occasionally thought about it and made up some nice eloquent words in my head, but by the time i get back and out of the shower they've evaporated.
fings wot ive done lately:
- holiday in wales, be patient but i may eventually manage to muster some pics of the digital camera. to summarise: drowned in snowdonia, raced the train in tywyn, fab coastline in pembrokeshire, lovely beach in
gower.
- race the train, retrospective race report to follow for posterity
- coventry way, 40miles off road round coventry on a rather warm day
- nottingham marathon, a respectable jaunt, windy in places.
- garden etc, major courgette glut averted by making some chutney, now we have an unfeasible amount of tomato and sweetcorn. garden needs putting to bed for winter soon and really must mow the lawn.
and just so i can record the times somewhere i'll mention that last sunday i did 4 laps of draycote water ~5miles a lap when you include a trip to/from the car to get drink/food each time round. so thats about 20miles, with the marathon the weekend before and 40miles the weekend before that... there is a reason for this silliness, i'm sure ive mentioned before.. if not all will be revealed shortly (or it better be as its only a week away!)
lap1 - 42:09 - 0:42:09
lap2 - 43:00 - 1:25:10
lap3 - 44:54 - 2:10:05
lap4 - 46:13 - 2:56:18
(approx 8:48 min/mile)
seems severn trent water are building a big new visitor centre & restaurant facilities which is at the enormous steel girder climbing frame stage. the afternoon time i chose to go meant the place was crammed with families, cyclists, roller bladists, fisherpersons, windsurfers, twitchers and the odd runner.
the last couple of laps were pretty lonely though and i appreciated the occasional company few runners that were still about, since everyone else had sensibly gone home for tea and cakes (i assume).
so coming soon the race reports from the above and appropriate links!
