Also bought a copy of some lectures given at Cambridge in 1927 on the constitutional developments of the seventeenth century. Now, I must this is a bit of a blank space for me, history-wise. On reading the first few chapters, I think I understood the writer's point that, whilst the Tudors claimed authority (over and against the Pope), they never claimed Divine Right. Unfortunately, James I did the latter, which is a dangerous idea when you've got an incompetent loon like Charles I haning around.
Further bulletins as events merit.
