Lambeth Palace was shaken to its elbows last night when revelations emerged (from my mate Kevin in the pub) that Jane Williams, wife of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, had allowed her car to be mended by a known second hand car sales man and mechanic.

Dave Clamp, 47, of Streatham, has a string of convictions and was revealed on television's "That's Life" as the fraudulant purveyor of the "Slim Car Plan", which invited consumers to use their cars in a weight loss programme.

Lambeth Palace issued a statement that Mrs Williams had never met Mr Clamp and didn't know who he was. However, this reporter can reveal that Mrs Williams DID know who Mr Clamp was. This revelation came after a conversation in which this reporter explained to Mrs Williams precisely who Mr Clamp was. At the end of the interview she was asked, "So do you know who Mr Clamp is?" to which she replied, "Well, I do now, obviously."

This is just another scandal to hit Rowan Williams since his election as Archbishop, coming on the heels of revelations that he will happily ordain openly heterosexual men with children to the priesthood and that his beard is a fake made from the fur of murdered gonks.
