Redundancy

Yesterday, St Hopscotch by the Switchblade became redundant. I.e., it's now possible to interrupt the preacher during divine service without fear of prosecution. According to the background note that came from the Church Commissioners, the original idea of converting the church from a parish into a chaplaincy centre/educational facility had been around since the 1960s. However, certain elements within the CofE, unable to think outside the concept of the parish church, had consistently blocked it.

Until now, because both the Bish and the V-C were behind. So no-one could say no. Hoorah.

This does mean that we'll be worshipping in a portakabin come February, as they re-do the inside of the Church. We're hoping to bag an Arch-Bish for the reopening in 2004.

On a lighter note, the mustard in my midmorning sandwich is incredibly strong and has cleared the vestiges of that cold from my sinuses.
