A good long while since the last entry

At Chapel Perilous we seem to be managing a group of about 12 to 15 for our new Sunday evening service.

Though not necessarily the same 12 to 15.

Which makes it exactly like the morning service - a group of regulars, of whom some might turn up at any given service.

Thursday sees the Official Opening and Bun Fight, involving the Chair of Methodist Circuit, the Bish, various educational worthies and some cucumber sandwiches.

Then on Sunday, Vic the Vicar departs to be Professor of Applied Cheese Appreciation at the University of South-East Westmorland, which means we now go more or less fully ecumenical, because that leaves no Anglican priest at chaplaincy for the time being, so communion will be presided over by Methodist and URC ministers. Necessity, hopefully, will prove to be the mother of re-unification.

Meself, I went for a job at the Metropolitan Institute of Basket-Weaving and Mickey-Mouse Degrees, but didn't get it, so I'm not bitter.

And then there's the Eames Report, which seems to want the Americans and Canadians to apologise, but doesn't say what happens if they don't; presumably it will be like those "apologies" on the Ship of Fools - "I'm sorry if you found my words offensive".
