THE WAR ON TELEVISION

They declared a war on television.

The transmission crept.

There was collateral damage - ratings were hit.

The body count negatively affected viewing figures.

Cessation of hostilities was announced during a power cut.

No-one knows who won.

DO THIS

Clearly blind to irony,
the curtain is drawn tightly,
evangelistic depublicity.

Railed against all-comers,
the pillars of the cage of God
impaled with clashing symbols.

Tickets are touted quarterly
for entry to eternity -
remember to dress smartly.

Assuming anamnesis,
presuming epiclesis,
Exodus made domestic.
