Surreal web moment of the day

Glancing through some stuff on amazon.com (apparently they have a sub-category called "Presbyterian" in their catalogue, so I was seeing what there was to see), I happened to notice a recurring theme.

You know the bit where they say "People who bought books by Rowan Williams also bought JK Rowling"? Well, instead of books by other authors, the first item on many pages was:

"People who bought this item also bought.....Clean underwear from our Clothing store."

I'm sorry - is this relevant? It would appear that everybody who has bought anything from amazon.com in recent months has also bought clean underwear from their Clothing store. Is there some rush on underwear in the States due to the middle east crisis? Millions of people unwilling to die wearing dirty smalls? Or is it a Presbyterian thing.."Well, I've bought the History of Presbyterianism - should get a thong at the same time, I suppose". What is it with these people?

Look, what I want to know is what sort of other reading material somebody who bought, say, books on Presbyterian liturgy, might have bought at the same time. I really, really don't need to know whether they have recently purchased unsoiled pants. No, really. I can do without that information.

And as for the recent sale they had in their "Baby Store".... the mind boggleth.
