The Other Christmas Market

Yesterday was the St Just Christmas Market...I think I learned things from the earlier one, and so I felt that this was quite successful. I sold a lot more cards (I didn't have a competitor this time!) and made many, many bookmarks. These were free, but all donations were accepted - and I made about 30€ on these. Almost all profit as well. On the cards I made a fair profit too, so I was quite pleased. I didn't sell many of the other things however - a bit sad, having spent yonks making stuff, but maybe it was all too "hand-made". Looking on various websites to compare, some of my stuff looks distinctly amateurish. Never mind, I can hang onto it, and either try next year, or sell at the local Artisanat (craft shop) or give it to people for presents (that's happening already this Christmas!)

Here are photos of the stall.

Using the coat stand to display the cards looks a bit amateurish I think, BUT it worked very well - especially as it turns round (even though I don't think it should!) which meant people could view the cards. The bare table next to mine remained unused all morning, so I took it over in the afternoon to display more cards. It didn't cost me any more so that was good.

I was generally pleased with how it went, if only because it showed Les Anglais joining in with village life.

I feel for zeveryone struggling with the snow in the UK at the moment. Things aren't too bad here, but it looks like my niece  in Rwanda is going to have her Christmas plans spoiled. Her boyfriend was due to fly out tomorrow (Tuesday) but it doesn't look like THAT will happen now. Poor her.
