Wet,wet,wet.

No, not the popular Beat-Combo but the weather! We come back from Hot Spain to Wet France. There was a spectacular storm last night - there was scarcely a pause between lightening flashes, so the thunder was almost constant. The TV wibbled a bit, but because we don't have satellite at the moment (we need to get a new FreeBox) we're limited to 4 channels of French TV. As my French is not as fluent as it could be, I wasn't really grabbed by "Carte Au Tresor" and fell asleep; Mr D, on the other hand, appeared to be gripped by the programme.

He is casting worried looks at the study ceiling - it's in the eaves and we've had several fairly major leaks. He's been up on the roof (four floors up - eek!) armed with mastic, heavy-duty sticky tape and other Stuff recently to try to mend them, so we are waiting to see if they can stand up to the rain.

Pumpkin took her tablets like a Good Little Cat last night. The vet promised us that two of the three were "palatable" but the other wasn't. She took one paltable without complaint, the other was squished into sardine and was taken. The third was less popular, but crushed into more  sardine and forced past clenched teeth (and boy, can she clench her teeth firmly!) I got about half in. Though Mr D isn't convinced she likes sardine, so maybe she's clenching her teeth against the fish, rather than the pill! This morning found her less tractable, so what will happen tonight only Pumpkin knows. She is slightly purrier, but is still not bouncing comme d'habitude. Pomme (No 2 cat) is being quite solicitous - which is a surprise, as normally they seem to only just tolerate each other. They were curled up together under the bed this morning. When I learn how to import photos - yes, it will take time! - I'll post photos of our two cats.

Thank you all for your welcome comments and advice. A Very Nice Gentleman called Chris  :-) helped me and I am, as you will see, now Dormouse. Which makes me feel more like myself! My next task is to choose a theme/appearance or whatever it's called. This blue-and-white is far too neat and tidy for me. Petit à petit, pas à pas, as my French friends say (little by little, step by step!)
