This notice is to inform you that after a little more than a year of non-blogular inactivity (excepting 1 small relapse), I will once again be blogging here from sometime as yet unknown in January...or maybe February, '07.
As some of you may have noticed, The Cartoon Blog currently has a survey asking when you think it is appropriate to put up a Christmas tree. Now, I'm quite used, and happy, to being in the minority. Really I am. But surely there must be someone else out there who can see the comedic potential in opting for "At some other time"?
I mean, if the Japanese - those masters of postmodern surrealism - can
publicly crucify Santa
then surely a Christmas tree to mark midsummer / the vernal equinoxe / the start of the school holidays (for the benefit of teachers) / Glastonbury festival / the end of the hosepipe ban / etc, can only serve to agitate our theological reflections.
Talking of hosepipe bans, it is December the 16th and the hum of lawnmowers fills the air. This can't be right...can it?
