Literature, hot solder, photography....oh ok, and more sex.

It's been a fun and creative day. On Monday I traipsed (or maybe bimbled?) around Bath visiting print shops looking at business cards. I'm going to design my own with my own photography. So this afternoon I spent doing the photography (actually macro/semi-macro photography), perfect diffused sunlight flooding through the window for it too. Much fun.

I have lots of soldering of various cables to do: XLR's, 38 and 90 way Edac's, TRS, Cat5e. It's tiring and mind-numbingly boring, but has to be done, so I'm trying to do a couple of hours a day. I'll try not to flick molten solder in my eyes again though. D'Oh!

Started reading Andre Brink's Before I Forget last night. Brink, I'm sure he won't mind me writing, is a South African writer in the late autumn of his life who I had the good fortune of hearing speak in person in Glasgow a couple of years ago. Only made it to page 50 or so but already it's showing itself to be a wonderfully honest, moving, funny and deeply human account of his erotic and amorous encounters and adventures. Many similarities to Coetzee's Youth, but also completely different.
